introduction of direct and indirect strategy

Introduction

There are 2 types of communication we generally use in our life. One is direct strategy and the another is Indirect strategy. Use of Direct and Indirect Strategy is used globally at present to share the information.
Direct strategy is to put your main point- the purpose of your message in first or second sentence. Its also known as front loading. It’s mostly used when we want to share information or idea as quickly as possible so that it can reach most of the people and its mostly used when the readers to be pleased, mildly expected, or at worst, neutral. Typical message that follow the direct strategy include routine requests and response, e-mails, informational reports and oral presentation. All these tasks have one thing in common none of them take too long to describe the main content of the message.
Indirect strategy is sharing some complex information which can be shocking for someone to hear, like some bad news. Its mostly used when you expect the reader to be uninterested, unwilling, displeased or perhaps even hostile. In this strategy you reveal the main point only after offered an explanation and evidence. It delays the main idea of the content and inappropriate message first. This approach works well with 3 kinds of messages: -
·         Bad news
·         Ideas that require persuasion
·         Sensitive news (Guffey, 2015)
